Facial contouring and lip surgery
Facial fat grafting, cheek and chin surgery, lip lift and double chin reduction.
Sometimes a face needs lost volume returned or its proportions balanced, not a lift. Facial contouring operations balance the cheeks, chin, lips and neckline.
What it corrects
- Hollow cheeks and loss of facial volume
- A small chin and a weak jawline
- A thin upper lip, or one that has lengthened with age
- A double chin: fat under the chin
- Lip deformity after an injury or from birth
Techniques
- Facial fat grafting: your own fat is taken from the abdomen or thigh and transferred to the cheeks, temples and under the eyes
- Cheek augmentation: with fat transfer or an implant
- Chin surgery: bringing the chin forward with an implant or with fat
- Bullhorn lip lift: a thin strip of skin is removed under the nose, so the upper lip is shorter and looks fuller
- Lip surgery and reconstruction: restoring shape and symmetry
- Chin liposuction: fat under the chin is removed through a small incision
- FaceTite and AccuTite: radiofrequency energy is delivered under the skin with a fine probe, reducing fat and tightening the skin
Operation and recovery
Most of these procedures take about an hour under local anaesthesia with sedation. Swelling settles in one to two weeks. Part of the transferred fat is absorbed in the first months, and the rest stays permanently.
