Breast reconstruction and asymmetry
Reconstruction after mastectomy, asymmetry, tubular breast and implant complications.
This area covers operations that rebuild and correct the shape of the breast: reconstruction after cancer surgery, differences in shape from development, and complications of an earlier implant operation.
When it is done
- Breast reconstruction: building a new breast after mastectomy (removal of the breast), with an implant or with your own tissue
- Breast asymmetry: balancing differences in size and shape
- Tubular breast: a narrow base and a tube-like shape
- Capsular contracture: the scar tissue around an implant hardens and squeezes the breast
- Inverted nipples
- Replacing or removing an implant
How treatment is planned
Reconstruction after cancer is planned together with the oncologist: sometimes at the same time as the mastectomy, sometimes after treatment has finished. For asymmetry and tubular breast, one side is enlarged and the other reduced or lifted. For capsular contracture, the hardened capsule is removed and the implant is replaced with a new one.
Insurance
Necessary reconstructive operations, such as reconstruction after mastectomy, are mainly covered by compulsory health insurance. I check your case when you get in touch.
